Eight games in the NHL Tuesday night.

 

Rangers 3 Islanders 2

Cam Talbot made 22 saves and Derek Stepan had two assists in the Rangers 3-2 win over the rival Islanders. Chris Kreider, Ryan McDonagh and Benoit Pouliot all scored for the Rangers.

Evgeni Nabokov stopped 21 shots and Cal Clutterbuck scored in the Islanders loss to the Rangers. Peter Regin had the other score for the Islanders. 

 

Ducks 3 Flyers 2

Jonas Hiller made 25 saves on 27 shots and Kyle Palmieri scored two third period goals to propel the Ducks to a 3-2 win over the Flyers. Andrew Cogliano had the other score for the Ducks.

Steve Mason stopped 34 shots and Wayne Simmonds notched two assists in Philadelphia’s 3-2 loss against Anaheim. Matt Read and Vincent Lecavalier were the goal scores for the Flyers.

 

Canadians 2 Stars 1

Carey Price made 26 saves and Raphael Diaz chipped in two assists in the Habs’ 2-1 win over Dallas. Rene Bourque and Michael Bournival scored for the Habs.

Kari Lehtonen allowed just two goals on 24 shots and Cody Eakin scored the lone goal for the Stars in their loss to the Canadians. 

 

Devils 2 Lightning 1

Martin Brodeur made 16 saves and Jaromir Jagr scored his third of the year in the Devils 2-1 win over the Lightning. Adam Henrique scored the other goal for the Devils.

Ben Bishop made 20 saves and Steven Stamkos scored his ninth of the year in the Lightnings' 2-1 loss to the Devils. 

 

Blues 3 Jets 2

Jaroslav Halak made 21 saves and Alex Steen continues his hot start by scoring the GWG with one minute remaining in the Blues 3-2 win over Winnipeg. Brenden Morrow and Alex Pietrangelo also had goals in the win.

Ondrej Pavelec made 30 saves and Bryan Little scored his seventh of the year in the Jets 3-2 loss. Blake Wheeler also had a goal and Andrew Ladd had two assist in the loss. 

 

Blackhawks 6 Senators 5

Corey Crawford came in midway through the second to relieve Nikolai Khabibulin Tuesday night and made 14 saves on 15 shots and Jonathan Toews scored a natural hat trick in the Blackhawks 6-5 win over the Sens. Andrew Shaw scored two goals and Marian Hossa scored a goal and two assist. 

Craig Anderson made 34 saves on 40 shots and Kyle Turris scored and added an assist in the Senators’ 6-5 loss. Milan Michalek (third), Joe Corvo (first), Mika Zibanejad (second), and Zack Smith (third) all scored for the Sens.

 

Leafs 4 Oilers 0

James Reimer earned his first shutout of the season by making 43 saves and Phil Kessel scored two goals and added two assist in the Leafs 4-0 win over the Oilers. James van Riemsdyk and Nazem Kadri also scored for the Maple Leafs.

Richard Bachman allowed four goals on 26 shots and Ryan Jones had eight shots on goal and Ales Hemsky had seven shots in the Oilers 4-0 loss to the Leafs. 

 

Coyotes 3 Kings 1

Mike Smith turned aside 41 of 42 shots and Andy Miele registered two assists in the Coyotes' 3-1 victory over the Kings. Kyle Chipchura scored a goal and an assist, while Shane Doan and Derek Morris also scored for the Coyotes.

Ben Scrivens stopped 30 of 33 shots and Jarret Stoll scored his first of the year in the Kings' 3-1 loss to the Coyotes. 

 

News and Notes.....The Calgary Flames have revealed that Mark Giordano has a broken ankle and is out 6-8 weeks and Lee Stempniak is week to week with a broken foot.....Penguins Chuck Kobasew (lower body) is expected to miss three-to-four weeks....Oilers Sam Gagner (broken jaw) returned to the Edmonton lineup on Tuesday.....Teemu Selanne left Tuesday night’s game after taking a high stick to the face and did not return.....The NHL has rescinded the game misconduct that Radko Gudas received Sunday night.
