Stars 4 Senators 3 S/O
Craig Anderson made 33 saves before leaving the game with a neck injury and Bobby Ryan scored a goal and an assist in the Sens 4-3 shootout loss to the Stars. Erik Karlsson and Jason Spezza each scored goals and Kyle Turris had two assists for the Sens.
Kari Lehtonen stopped 33 of 36 shots and rookie Valeri Nichushkin scored his first NHL goal in the Stars 4-3 shootout win over the Sens. Ray Whitney and Antoine Roussel also scored for the Stars.
Flames 3 Blackhawks 2 OT
Reto Berra, making his first NHL start, stopped 42 of 44 shots and Curtis Glencross scored a goal and picked up an assist to help the Flames beat the Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime in Chicago Sunday night. Mike Cammalleri scored and Kris Russel scored the game winning goal.
Corey Crawford made 27 saves and Patrick Kane scored a goal and a assist in the Blackhawks OT loss to the Flames. Marian Hossa also scored for the Blackhawks.
Wild 4 Devils 0
Josh Harding stopped 19 shots for his second shutout of the season and Nino Niederreiter contributed three assists to the Wild in a 4-0 shutout of the Devils. Mikael Granlund, Torrey Mitchell, Dany Heatley and Jason Pominville scored for the Wild.
Cory Schneider made 16 saves, Jaromir Jagr and Adam Henrique did not have a shot on goal in the Devils 4-0 loss to the Wild.
NHL News and Notes.....Ottawa Senators announced that Craig Anderson has a stiff neck and is unlikely to play on Tuesday.....New Jersey defenseman Jon Merrill left his first NHL game with facial lacerations after sliding hard into the boards in the first period.....Los Angeles Kings Jeff Carter's foot injury is "nagging" at him, according to head coach Darryl Sutter......Philadelphia Flyers forward Vincent Lecavalier (face) remains day-to-day and Flyers GM Paul Holmgren announced that Steve Downie was released from the hospital and is "doing well" on Sunday.
