There were nine NHL games on Saturday night including a shootout, a shutout and a couple goalie injuires.

 

Devils 4 Penguins 1

Martin Brodeur made 27 saves and Jaromir Jagr netted two goals (one via the empty net) for the Devils as they defeated the Penguins on Saturday night 4-1. Andy Greene and Adam Larsson picked up the other goals.

Marc-Andre Fleury allowed three goals on 21 shots and Chris Kunitz scored for the Penguins, who fell to the Devils 4-1.

 

Rangers 1 Canadiens 0

Cam Talbot recorded his first career shutout making 22 saves and Ryan Callahan scored the lone goal in the game for the Rangers in their 1-0 win over the Canadiens.

Carey Price made 33 saves, David Desharnais and Brian Gionta finished with a team-high three shots on net in their 1-0 loss to the Rangers.

 

Leafs 4 Sabres 2

James Reimer stopped 33 shots and James van Riemsdyk potted two goals for the Maple Leafs in their 4-2 win over the Sabres on Saturday night. Mason Raymond had a two-point night, with a goal and an assist. Nikolai Kulemin also scored, while Cody Franson recorded two assists.

Jhonas Enroth made 18 saves and Tyler Ennis picked up a goal for the Sabres in their 4-2 loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday night. Jamie McBain scored the other goal for Buffalo. 

 

Islanders 5 Red Wings 4 S/O

Evgeni Nabokov left with a groin injury so Kevin Poulin came into the game and set aside 19 shots and John Tavares scored and assisted for the Islanders in their 5-4 win in the shootout over the Red Wings. Cal Clutterbuck, Brock Nelson and Casey Cizikas picked up the other goals.

Jonas Gustavsson made 41 saves and Pavel Datsyuk scored twice in the Red Wings 5-4 shootout loss to the Islanders. Darren Helm had a goal and an assist, and Johan Franzen notched the other goal for the Red Wings.

 

Coyotes 6 Lightning 3

Mike Smith made 27 saves and Martin Hanzal had a goal and three assist in the Coyotes 6-3 win over the Lightning. Mike Ribeiro had a goal and an assist, while Shane Doan and Connor Murphy (his first NHL goal), netted the other goals.

Ben Bishop was yanked early in the second period giving up three goals on 14 shots and Alex Killorn netted a goal and added an assist in the Lightning's 6-3 loss to the Coyotes.  J.T. Brown and Richard Panik scored the other goals in the loss.

 

Predators 7 Blackhawks 2

Marek Mazanec blocked 39 shots and Craig Smith had a goal and two assist in the Predators 7-2 win over the Blackhawks. Shea Weber, Matt Cullen and Patric Hornqvist had a goal and a assist.  Mike Fisher, Nick Spaling and Viktor Stalberg also had goals. Roman Josi and David Legwand each had two assist each.

Nikolai Khabibulin left the game with a injury, Corey Crawford came into the game in relief and gave up five goals on 22 shots. Patrick Kane and Brandon Pirri scored in the Blackhawks 7-2 loss to the Preds.

 

Blues 4 Hurricanes 2

Brian Elliott gave up two goals on 20 shots and Alexander Steen had a goal and an assist for the Blues in their 4-2 win over the Hurricanes.  Roman Polak also had a goal and an assist. David Backes and T.J. Oshie picked up the other goals. Jay Bouwmeester had two assists.

Justin Peters gave up three goals on 31 shots and Eric Staal notched a goal for Carolina in its 4-2 loss to St. Louis on Saturday night. Nathan Gerbe scored the other goal. 

 

Panthers 4 Avalanche 1

Tim Thomas made 32 saves and Brian Campbell scored a goal and a assist in the Panthers 4-1 win over the Avs. Jonathan Huberdeau, Tomas Kopecky and Brad Boyes picked up the other goals.

Semyon Varlamov gave up four goals on 33 shots and Ryan O'Reilly netted a goal for the Avs, who fell 4-1 to the Panthers on Saturday night.

 

Oilers 4 Flames 2

Devan Dubnyk kicked away 33 shots and Jordan Eberle scored in the Oilers 4-2 win over the Flames. David Perron, Ales Hemsky and Boyd Gordon (empty net) also scored in the win.

Reto Berra gave up three goals on 23 shots and Sean Monahan sscored for the Flames in their 4-2 loss to the Oilers on Saturday night. Dennis Wideman had the other goal.
